Heating SaddleSpans

Heating a SaddleSpan is a very important part of using marquees in the colder Autumn and Winter months. We offer our clients several solutions here are some of them.

One option is to use diesel fired heaters that blow warm air under the tent into diffusers that warm up the structure.  This is very good for heating large areas however, it is harder to control the temperature in different parts of the tent.

Another option is to use a pressurised hot water system. We can use large oil fired boilers that are housed in their own 20ft container which pumps hot water into a 2″ pipe that runs around the outside of the tent and at regular intervals pipes into small diffusers located inside that then blows warm dry air into the area.  These small diffusers can be thermostatically controlled and when we used them at Bluestone  24 of the diffusers raised the internal temperature to 26 degrees C when the outside temperature was 2 degrees!   The system was supplied by Watkins Hire who worked closely with us to ensure that everything worked perfectly on the day.

Having warm dry air heating a large structure is essential when it is cold outside.  Using traditional space heaters that generate damp heat creates terrible condensation problems to the point where it can seem like it’s raining inside.  Having water dripping onto a guest speaker at a conference or the bride and groom at their wedding breakfast is really not a good thing.

Super Spiegletent for Stunning Events

SaddleSpan Maintenance

As summer finally comes to a close we begin the laborious, but essential, process of cleaning, scrubbing, checking, drying and carefully packing the SaddleSpans safely away for the winter.

Topshop Unique Unveil Showspace in a SaddleSpan

We are extremely excited to show off our stunning SaddleSpans as seen hosting the fabulous Topshop Unique Showspace for their Spring and Summer collection 2014 at London Fashion Week.

There are several videos and all of them see the fashion show taking place within one of our Amazing Tents, a SaddleSpan no less.

This video gives you an idea how versatile the environment is. Providing an eye catching entrance, a huge back stage area and, of course, the actual catwalk and seating area as well.

The catwalk is packed with an audience, with cameras on dollys, lights, music and much more.

While at the back hundreds of people are working to make this show come alive and maintain its energy and verve.

The SaddleSpan was also decorated with fake grass and hills to give it a real summer-time feel.

Five Top Tips For An Amazing Corporate Christmas Party

Christmas is fourteen weeks away, but do not panic! There is still plenty of time to plan a spectacular Christmas event for your colleagues or clients.

With this in mind we thought we would help you out with some top tips for your Christmas Party.

1. Make your venue AMAZING! Your venue allows you to provide so much and you can really go to town with VIP rooms, bars, chill out zones, lounging areas, discos, live bands, catering and so much more. You could fill the venue with dancing ladies, ice sculptures, perhaps even Father Christmas! The options are limitless with a marquee.

2. Be generous – give your staff and colleagues, or clients, plenty to eat and drink – there is nothing more disappointing than the booze or food running out. In a marquee you can have a buffet, you could make it more special and create a sit down feast – you can have several bars. If you keep your staff happy they will be satisfied and don’t they deserve a good knees up and an opportunity to let their hair down after a long hard year?

3. Consider whether you want clients as well as staff – there is nothing more generous and important than looking after you clients – but if you want to let go and plan to be moonwalking with the tea lady then perhaps you would rather your clients did not see this side of you -therefore do not invite them!

4. Make sure your staff and clients can get home safely after a night out on the tiles – to be seen as a really thoughtful and generous company ensure your staff get safely home. If the party has been mid-week which will make costs lower – allow your staff to come in late the next day and even provide them all with a bacon sandwich – believe us they will seriously appreciate this extra thoughtfulness.
