Amazing Tent In The Outer Hebrides

VENUE:  The Outer Hebrides

BRIEF:  To provide stage cover on a weather beaten island in the Outer Hebrides!

SOLUTION:  We provided an S5000 SaddleSpan Concert, which has been engineered to withstand winds of up to 70mph.

After a two-day road trip through Scotland and a boat trip to the Outer Hebrides, an Amazing Tent crew found themselves at one of the best events they’d ever been to.

Barra Live was an exciting community music festival on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean – the closest the SaddleSpans have been to Canada since their manufacture!

An Amazing Tent in West Wales in February!

SECTOR: Conference Venue

EVENT: Conference for Multi-ational Pharmaceutical Company

VENUE: Bluestone National Park Resort, Pembrokeshire

BRIEF:

  1. A heated temporary structure to host 600 delegates with large reception area and sufficient height to allow various AV
  2. Carry out all site management services from initial planning to dismantle of event

SOLUTION:

Four S5000 SaddleSpans in a  4-Y configuration were installed with flooring and carpet and heated to 26oC with a sophisticated pressurised water system supplied by Watkins Hire.

With an internal height of up to 7.3m, the S5000 SaddleSpan structure was an ideal solution giving uninterrupted  sightlines to the AV screens.    The SaddleSpan fabric is opaque, resulting in crystal clear projected images even during daylight hours.

Amazing Tent at Goodwood Once Again!

SECTOR:        Exhibition Stand

EVENT:           Goodwood Festival of Speed

VENUE:          Goodwood, West Sussex

Brief: We are asked to create an eye-catching white clear-span canopy to fit in a 25m x 20m plot which would incorporate working areas including a bar and hospitality area amongst other environments. The plot was also on a slope and it had to be well and easily branded and recognisable.

Solution: We provided an S5000 SaddleSpan Canopy built on a steel deck and branded front and back with printed ‘wings’.  The white semi-tensile roof acted as a great contrast to the black and orange RAC branding.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is the largest motoring garden party in the world – a unique weekend held in the Goodwood House to celebrate all things automotive – The Amazing Tent Company were exceptionally excited to be part of such a hallowed event, again!

The Amazing Tent Company Works With Local Charity

VENUE: The Abbey grounds, Cirencester

BRIEF: Cirencester’s Youth Town Council approached the Amazing Tent Company as they were looking for a stage cover from a sympathetic local business to help them to raise the profile of their youth organised festival.

SOLUTION: We provided An S5000 SaddleSpan Concert to give  the event the kind of elevated focus it needed to give it a professional element.

The idea for the Phoenix Festival was originally conceived by fourteen teenagers from Cirencester, who also enjoyed support from Bromford Group, Cirencester Town Council and other local businesses and charities.

Just twenty miles from Amazing Tent’s warehouse this was a great local event to be involved with.

Commonwealth Games With Amazing Tents? We Hope So

Last year The Amazing Tent Company was at the London Olympics 2012 wrap party – you can see the structure we used above.

The brief was to supply a ballasted canopy to give open weather protection to the guests on a site which was not only notoriously windy but with difficult access.

The venue was in London outside the Olympic Copperbox.

Our solution was to provide an S5000 Canopy ballasted with low profile weights.

5 Top Tips for Holding a Festival in Winter

A lot of famous festivals happen during the summer months, but some of the most spectacular events are also held during winter. The Amazing Tent Company brings you some top tips for holding a festival in winter.

1. Keep warm!

Remember to have your tent properly heated, which is very important in the cold autumn and winter months. Warm drinks, such as tea, coffee and mulled wine and hot food will keep everyone inside your tent warm and in high spirits. Large gas-powered heaters work well in the open air, and even better for using in tents. If you have access to a generator or electrical outlets, powerful electric heaters that can be operated outside work just as well.

Take special measures to promote safety when using heaters, as they must be placed visibly and not obstruct the flow of traffic. In a tent, a circulation system will help heat the space evenly.

2. It goes without saying, but remember to keep the weather out.

Get a decent cover, an Amazing Tent SaddleSpan will be 100% weatherproof. Prepare for the worst, because you’ll never truly know what the weather will be like until it hits.

3. Pick the right sized venue.

Once you know the number of people that will be attending, you will have to make sure there is enough room for your guests, but not so much room that it becomes hard to heat and inhibits the purpose of the event. Also bear in mind parking at your venue, as you need enough room for plenty of cars along with the right sized tent. 4. Book a date early.

Generally people tend to be busy around Christmas time, so remember to set a date soon enough for people to put it in their diaries. You don’t want people missing out, so try to  plan your event out as early as possible.

To prevent your guests and attendees from getting bored, get in plenty of entertainment to keep everyone active and on their feet. Try bringing in plenty of activities depending on what sort of event you’re hosting, and make your event as memorable as possible!
