No CMD for Events

As reported yesterday by Events Industry News, the Health and Safety Executive has agreed that the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations 2007 is not a useful regulatory framework for temporary structures and marquees used in the events industry.  All HSE require is that events industry organisers and contractors comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and its subsidary regulations.

The Amazing Tent Company is a member of MUTA, the trade association for the UK temporary structures and technical textiles industries, and worked closely with them to prepare the Code of Practice from which the above policy is outlined.

Summer Season is Finally Here

At last!  The sun is shining, the weather is warmer and the festival season is well under way – a sure sign that summer is here!

Here at The Amazing Tent Company we are full steam ahead.

We have a SaddleSpan S5000 Concert going up for The Leopaluuza Festival, an S5000 Canopy is going in for Skyfest in Leeds and we have a SaddleSpan S2000 Canopy off to Edinburgh Fringe to join the SaddleSpan already there.

We’ve got an S2000 Canopy on Weymouth Beach that made the BBC Morning News, an S5000 Concert is up at Global Gathering and two SaddleSpan S5000s at WOMAD.

One of the SaddleSpans at WOMAD is being used for Molly’s Bar – a fantastic place to chill and listen to great music and I’m sure we will see lots of you there.

Amazing Tent at WOMAD

It’s that time of year again! WOMAD is a week away and we are so excited to be a part of it.

This year we have two SaddleSpan S5000 Concerts at Charlton Park.

One is the Charlie Gillett Stage, the SaddleSpan stage renamed in 2010 in Charlie’s memory.

The other is Molly’s Bar, the Electro-swing cabaret bar homage to the roaring 1920s and 30s that is very dear to our hearts.  Not because we like hanging around bars but because the eponymously named Molly is like a member of thefamily to all of us at The Amazing Tent Company – almost literally!

The SaddleSpan builds will begin this weekend and lots of our boys are onsite, helping Steve with the site management although some are bringing the S1000 Trispan back from Manchester and others are down in Weymouth tomorrow putting in an S2000 Canopy for the Coastal Voices Beach Concert.

If you are coming up to WOMAD call into Molly’s Bar (2pm-4am) – we’d love to see you. Slip in to your flapper dress, slap on some red lipstick and if you are very lucky you might get a dance with Molly herself.

S1000 in Manchester

As you may have read on a previous post our SaddleSpan S1000 is on tour with the Opera di Peroni.  Last week we were in Birmingham and this week it’s Manchester. Salford to be more specific and MediaCityUK to be precise.

Here are a few picures:

This last one has nothing to do with the SaddleSpan.  That’s the Batmobile from Dark Knight Rises! But it was outside MediaCityUK at the same time.

SaddleSpans in France

Last month we got the great news that The Amazing Tent Company had been given clearence by the French authorities to install SaddleSpans in France.

Bruno Trinche and the team at Live Nation France were great in helping us become the only SaddleSpan supplier to France and we can’t wait to start working across the Channel.

We’ve even started advertising our SaddleSpans in French on Europages.fr!

SaddleSpan S1000 Opera di Peroni Tour (London)

London July 2012, Regent’s Place

You might have seen on our Facebook page that our new SaddleSpan S1000 Trispan is on tour with the Opera di Peroni; visiting London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow.

The first stage of the tour is in London.  The live event is being held between the 5th – 7th July.

We installed on Monday 2nd July in pretty windy and wet weather.  The installation itself was a challange as the structure is ballasted (no driving spikes into Regent’s Place)  and we had one day to get the tent and production set-up. Access to the site wasn’t brilliant and we needed to keep all areas open to the public as Triton Square, Regent’s Place a busy business hub.

As always, the team were up to the challange and as you can see from the photos, the S1000 Trispan looks amazing.

Introducing the SaddleSpan S1000

There’s a new addition to the Amazing Tent family!  The S1000 Trispan is the little sister of the S5000. This stunning structure is ideal for smaller event shelters, promotional covers and mini stages, with the potential to house approximately 600 people.

The SaddleSpan S1000 Trispan is made of three 90m2 units, totalling 450m2 when installed with walls. Its beautiful curvaceous design will make a statement at any event, while its advanced engineering will withstand high wind speeds, providing shelter from rain or shine.

Made from a similar canvas to our other SaddleSpans, the S1000 can look fantastic with minimal lighting, is the perfect surface to project upon and can be easily branded. It can also be installed as three single units.

If you would like more details on the structure, including pricing, please contact us or call the office on 01452 861131.
