S5000 TriSpan for Exhibitions

There are purpose built exhibition spaces around the country – The National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, London’s Earl’s Court, the The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow to name but a few  – but however practical they are, exhibiting in or visiting an exhibition in one of these vast edifices can be a tiring experience.

To create a unique and refreshingly different event experience, why not use an S5000 TriSpan or other large configuration of SaddleSpans?

There are many advantages of using a SaddleSpan structure; the ability to be creative and atypical is one but perhaps the main advantage is that you can stage your exhibition in any location you desire.

Imagine the added attraction and interest there will be if you hold your exhibition outside Wembley Stadium, Battersea Power Station, a desert or where ever you want.

Being able to stage exhibitions in any location gives you freedom of choice and of course the ability to take your exhibition to your audience instead of making your audience come to you.

Festivals? We’ve got you covered.

What’s the summer going to be like?

That’s the question on everyone’s lips as we move from winter into spring and the answer at the moment is that we just don’t know.

What we do know is that more and more production managers are thinking about audience cover to keep the crowds in front of the stage whatever the weather.

Rain or shine, it’s important that your ticket buying customers are looked after.  We don’t want them getting wet, or getting too hot, which is why our SaddleSpans are such a popular option.

SaddleSpan canopies are high so they don’t affect sight-lines and they are semi-tensile which means no flapping canvas. They are in fact the perfect festival audience cover.

If looking after your customers is important to you please give us a call.  Our SaddleSpans make a difference.

Pegging Down our SaddleSpans

Like most marquees, our SaddleSpan structures are be erected on grass or hard surfaces and like most marquees we (usually) use tent pegs to stop the structure from falling over. A marquee that blows away with the slightest breeze isn’t much use to anyone.

Our “tent pegs” are not like most marquees’ however.  At 1.2m long and 35mm in diameter, these high tensile steel tent stakes make sure our SaddleSpans are well pegged down!

(If you need a SaddleSpan on a surface not suitable for staking we’ve got that covered too; we can use ballast blocks and bags to make sure your marquee, stage cover or audience cover stays exactly where it’s supposed too).

Safety is of paramount importance here at The Amazing Tent Company so we always make sure that our structures are secure using the most effective techniques available.  To see just how much effort goes into securing a SaddleSpan have a look at this video showing our “sledging” techniques.

SaddleSpans for Conferences

When organising a conference event, size is an important factor. Finding a venue big enough to accommodate all delegates can be a task. A SaddleSpan offers a large space without compromising on the look and image; our structures offer a spacious and unique setting. Our SaddleSpans can seat up to 1700, including separate bar and catering areas.

The trend for holding conferences in large stylish structures is a fast growing one. An example of this is Bluestone National Park Resort in Pembrokeshire. They also offer the option of accommodation for attendees. The resort has over 260 stylish and comfortable lodges, studios and cottages with an area near by for setting up a structure such as a SaddleSpan for the event. This means accommodation and venue are on one location.

Another reason for using a SaddleSpan as a conference venue is that it can be branded, dressed and lit to a client’s specification; making it perfectly adaptable. Video mapping is another great feature that can be used; projecting images and video onto the walls of the structure, creating an amazing display.

Call us for more information on using our SaddleSpans at your conference.

Exhibition Lighting in SaddleSpans

Having the right lighting for an exhibition is crucial.  It helps highlight stands and displays, can be used to project your brand and can provide a spectacular or subtle atmosphere depending on your requirements.

SaddleSpan structures are a perfect venue for exhibitions because its pole-less, curvaceous design provides a sense of space that rivals indoor arenas.

The design of the SaddleSpan lends itself perfectly to lighting displays too.  All SaddleSpans are made from an opaque material which does not allow light to pass through, so unlike normal marquees which are transparent, creative lighting displays can be used day and night.

Lighting rigs can be suspended from the SaddleSpan’s trusses and arches or can be projected directly onto the surface of the structure for film shows, video mapping or light displays.

Call us now if you would like more information about hiring our SaddleSpans for exhibitions.

Video Mapping on our SaddleSpans

Video projection mapping is a technique that turns almost any surface into a dynamic video display area and more and more companies are using video mapping to create amazing displays that wow their guests and promote their brand.

This short YouTube video gives you an idea of what video mapping is all about and the fantastic effects that can be achieved.

All of the examples seen in the video use buildings as the projection screen but what if you have decided to host your event in a SaddleSpan? Does this mean you can’t incorporate video mapping?

The answer is a resounding “yes you can”!  SaddleSpan marquees are semi-tensile and the walls of the structure are ideal for projecting images onto.

Imagine using video mapping on the outside of this SaddleSpan structure!

Not only do you have a fantastic venue, you also have the opportunity to add an extra dimension to your event.

Call us now if you would like more information about our SaddleSpans and to discuss the branding opportunities our structures offer.

Event Insurance is a Hot Topic

One of the most talked about things in our industry – and the events industry at large – at the moment is “event insurance”.  Two articles on the sector have appeared this month in the February edition of Live UK and the March edition of Stand Out Magazine showing how topical the subject is.

The discussion is of course prompted by the atrocious weather of last year which caused major problems and even cancellations but the general feeling is that even though insurance brokers will not be hiking up rates they will be expecting not only to see more contingency planning but will also be looking at competencies too – track records and experience will be a factor.

On the subject of contingency planning it is thought that details of the site, car parking and camping areas will be very important in relation to water-logging and how the site will cope with adverse conditions.

The events industry on the whole is becoming more aware of insurance cover (cancellation insurance included) and many events are now requiring vendors, hiring companies and sub-contractors to show proof of Public Liability insurance and to have their own cover.

Our own insurance company is offering policies based around Public and Employers Liability Insurance and / or Insurance cover on hired in event equipment including Marquees…[I]nsurance for these events may also include Event Cancellation Insurance Cover.

Hopefully, the weather will not be as bad as last year and many events caught out have spent considerable sums (£250,000 in the case of the Isle of Wight Festival) ensuring that problems don’t happen again but at least the industry is aware of the problems and taking steps to control them which is one good thing to arise from the situation.
