Wedding or Party Tent? Keep Flowers Fresh with These 3 Tips

Event flowers

Decorating your tent with flowers is a fantastic way to add elegance and vibrancy to any event – whether you’re hosting a wedding, a private party or a corporate product launch.

In this blog, we give you 3 essential tips to ensure your flowers last the distance at your event.

Choosing your event tent

Before deciding on decor, it’s important to choose the right tent for your event. We recommend hiring one of our saddlespan tents due to their unique structure which can be tailored to your event and season.

If you’re hosting an event in the summer, you can have a tent without walls to allow for as much airflow as possible. Whereas, in more turbulent weathers where there’s high winds and rain, you may want to keep the walls up to protect yourself from the elements. Luckily, no matter the weather, our saddlespan tents can do both.

Here’s 3 things you need to do to keep flowers fresh in an event tent:

1. Pick seasonal flowers

It’s always important to choose flowers that are appropriate for the time of year. These flowers will thrive in the right climate, helping them look and smell their very best.

Summer flowers include sunflowers, roses, and daisies. For winter you might opt for more hardy flowers like poinsettias, orchids, or clematis.

By choosing seasonal flowers youcan ensure they will have the longest life possible in your event tent.

2. Stop the wilt

It’s no secret that some flowers don’t do well in humid environments. To prevent your flowers from wilting try to control the humidity and temperature inside your tent. You can do this by installing fans that help circulate the air, opening the tents doors and walls to allow for as much airflow as possible, or hiring dehumidifiers to help reduce the humidity.

3. Hydration is key for fresh, radiant blooms

It’s crucial to remember to water your flowers during your event, especially if your event is over a couple of days or weeks. Add a reminder to your calendar so you know exactly when and how much you’ve watered them.

If your flowers are in water vases, make sure to refresh your water regularly and put them away from direct sunlight to avoid wilting.

By following these tips, we hope your flowers stay fresh from start to finish and add a touch of beauty to your event tent.
