Cold Outside, Cosy Inside: Tips for Warming Up your Event Tent

It might be cold, dark, and grey most of the time, but we’re convinced that winter in the UK is still a fantastic time to host an event in a tent.

One of the main concerns when planning a winter event is keeping your guests warm. Fortunately, there’s plenty you can do to ensure your saddlespan tent stays cosy and comfortable.

Using a large heater is often the best solution. One of the most efficient heating options is an indirect diesel heater. These sit outside the tent and provide large volumes of clean, fume-free warm air through ducting. They’re controlled by a thermostat inside-just like the heating in your home and are excellent for warming large spaces quickly and maintaining a steady temperature. Simply position the heater outside your saddlespan tent and enjoy the warmth inside.

Here are a few other ideas that can help create the illusion of warmth:

  • Choose hardwood flooring to help insulate your event from the cold ground.
  • Avoid placing seating areas near tent doors, where drafts from people coming and going can make it feel cooler.
  • Opt for decor and furnishings that create a cosy atmosphere, such as warm golds and deep reds, faux fur cushions, long pile rugs and even curtains to partition areas or create dramatic entrances.
  • Use low lighting like fairy lights, floor lamps, or warm-toned bulbs to create a snug, inviting glow.
  • Provide blankets and hot water bottles to keep guests comfortable throughout the event.
  • Serve something warming, from hot mulled cider to hearty stews-your guests will thank you!

We hope these tips inspire you to embrace the winter season and create a truly magical event.
