At Amazing Tents, we’ve been fortunate enough to pitch our unique Saddlespan tents at a wide range of festivals in the UK. Including Glastonbury, Creamfields, Reading and Leeds, and the BBC’s Big Weekend.
We’ve been around to see what makes a festival successful whether its big or small. Here’s our top tips for making your festival go from average to fantastic.
Create family-friendly camping spaces
Having dedicated areas for families can help to create more comfortable and safer stays for your guests with younger festival goers. These areas tend to have reduced noise from the festival, more advanced facilities (like baby changing areas and showers), easier access to car parking and be separate from the late-night party people.
Use social media and apps to engage with your audience
Keeping your guests informed about the latest festival updates can help them to plan a better experience and keep them aware of any changes. Essential information your guests will require includes, location of acts and timings, a festival map, and where they can find essentials like toilets, food stands, and medical assistance.
Using social media to post any photos from the event can be a great tool for keeping them engaged and notifying them when the next festival will be held.
Create a pop-up convenience store
It’s easy to arrive at a festival forgetting lots of must-have items. Creating a pop-up convenience store can be a fantastic addition to your festival. Stocking everything from toiletries, clothes, merchandise, food, drink, pharmaceuticals, and items to make their festival stay more comfortable – like earplugs and blow-up pillows.
Our Saddlespan tents can provide great temporary shelter for a store. You can even divide your tent into different sections, allowing for more dedicated areas. The unique design stands out from the crowd, helping your festival attendees identify the area easily.
Provide a range of food options
When planning which food stalls to invite to your festival, ensure there is a range of food for all dietary requirements. Whether it be vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, halal or Kosher. It’s also important to ask your food vendors to be transparent about the ingredients and the food’s exposure to allow guests with allergies to feel confident about the food they are buying.
Set out a green initiative
Lots of waste can be generated at festivals, so it’s essential to plan to make your festival as sustainable and green as possible. You can do this by providing plenty of recycling areas, swapping single-use plastics for paper, and encouraging guests to take everything home with them in the campsites. We have more sustainability tips here.
We hope these 5 tips help you on your festival planning journey and create a memorable event that your guests will want to come back to year on year.
